Sydnee, Me and my Grandpa went to Effigy Mounds and it was a blast. When
we got there some people were already there hiking. We were already in the store
were you can get alot of things like books, watch movies, get magnets, etc. The
Store is also a museum so we went in the museum. When we came out of it there
was a ranger that asked Sydnee if she wanted to become a jr. Park Ranger. She
got the paper and we were of on the trails. The first trail we walked on was the
eagles veiw. That was the best. That trail was miles long with things I didnt
even no about. On the way up sydnee fell going up a hill and we just had to keep
walking because there was no way we were going back down that Huge hill. When we
go to the tip of the hill we had to take a brake and that is when Sydnee had to
adopt a tree. She adopted a wallnut tree and she named it wally the wallnut.THen
we set of again .Grandpa said that when my mom was my age that they went all the
way to the top of the hills that long of a walk was about 4miles.When we got to
the long mound we had to take a brake.THe trees were so pritty you could
only see orange and brown. The next stop was the compound mound that was a big
mound that was full of things but humans. we saw a mound that was the shape of a
bear that mound was called the little bear mound. The sydnee found this mound
that was never seen before it was way back on a trail and that was the best
because she didnt even no that she found one.but we had to keep walking and
walking tell we found the biggest mound of all. it was all the way to the top of
the eaagles veiw. It was cool to see what that was all about. The paper that was
next to it said that some people dug into the mound in 1876.The people found
some shoves and other house hold things. Then after alittle more walking we saw
were the real deal was. The tippy top of the eagles view. there was a eagle nest
and two eagles up there so we had to go back down the hill. When we got down to
the end of the trail we had to go back to the store so sydnee could get her
badge to become a Jr.Ranger and when she got it she said that the next time we
go back she was going to wear it.that was funny at the time because she was
fricking out over the littlest thing that it was. After we were done we had to
leav. It was the best 1mile hike ever.
